Victorian Coastal Awards announced


​ The Port Fairy Coastal Group was pleased to be recognised with its nomination in the recent Victorian Coastal Council's 2015 Coastal Awards for Excellence. The PFCG's Coastal Hazard Community Exhibition was nominated for the Community Engagement Award.

The Victorian Coastal Council announced winners and finalists of the Awards for Excellence at a ceremony held at NGV International on 14 October 2015. The Hon. Lisa Neville MP, Minister for Environment, Climate Change and Water presented winners with their Awards. The Awards celebrate the efforts and achievements of Victorians who work tirelessly to care for our State’s unique coastal and marine environments. This year marked the 16th anniversary of the Awards. Nine awards and one Special Commendation were presented, with full details available on the VCC's Awards webpage. Newly appointed Chair of the VCC, Cathy Whelan said “The awards are a great way to acknowledge and celebrate the people who care for Victoria’s coast.” “Thousands of volunteers and professionals work hard for our magnificent coast and we are grateful for their expertise, time and passion. I congratulate all those who have been nominated for the Victorian Coastal Awards for Excellence, and those who have received awards this year,” Ms Whelan said.
